![]() ![]() Agent preference.xml is typically found in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberPower PowerPanel Business Edition\etc\agent\preference.xml Stop the "PowerPanel Business Edition Service" I recommended that the user be given - both in Quick setup and in the main configuration GUI - the option to select BOTH the Interface AND the IP address (because even on some single-Interface systems there may be more than one IP address). I have suggested to Tracey.Cyberpower as well as to the tech support people with whom I'm communicating at CyberPowersystems (I have to give them props - they're very communicative and they're not at all afraid to dive into the weeds) provide this feedback so that in the next minor update to PPBE this is properly taken care of in the GUI. ![]() I searched the documentation and the FAQs and I did not find this, and in any case to have to manually edit an XML configuration file is just wrong. I view this as a MAJOR oversight in the configuration process of the software. I note: This does seem to have resolved the issue. The PPBE GUI does not seem to offer a way to do this.īelow is what I got back from formal CyberPower support, which matches what Tracey.Cyberpower sent to me privately. ![]() How do I configure PPBE to use a specific Adapter/IP Address? (Both in Agent mode and in Client mode). I don't see anything in PPBE's control panel nor in the documentation from CyberPowerSystems for PPBE, nor looking through the install directories (C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberPower PowerPanel Business Edition\.) for configuration files, etc, where the choice of Adapter/IP Address may be set. which of course cannot communicate with the other system. Opens a new window ) I notice that the PPBE software is choosing which Ethernet Adapter (and therefore IP address) seemingly randomly from the several adapters installed on each of the two systems, and it almost always chooses a not-really-real adapter (such as a VMware virtual Network Adapter or an npcap loopback adapter), so it gets a .x IP address. When I login to PPBE (which is accessed via a local webserver i.e. I'm having a problem of the Client not getting communication over the LAN from the Agent (so it doesn't get powerfail/ need-to-shutdown events). The other computer runs PPBE Client version (talks over the LAN to the Agent on the computer which is physically connected to the UPS). One computer runs the PPBE Agent version (physically conneted to the PR1500ELCD UPS). Both computers run PowerPanel Business Edition (PPBE), v3.40. I have a CyberPowerSystems PR1500ELCD UPS supporting two computers. ![]()
